Morals of the Clone Wars 2.18: The Zillo Beast

Moral: “Choose what is right, not what is easy.”

Jesus once said, “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).

We like the broad, paved routes to travel on–especially interstate systems. They’re fast. They’re easy. But they cause us to miss out on a lot: the off-road hidden gems, local people and customs, beautiful scenery.

Narrow paths take work. They’re  sometimes overgrown. They tend not to be level but involve a lot of change in elevation. The require us to pay attention or we’re suddenly lost in the woods.

We like what is easy. But what is easy is seldom right. The easy road, Jesus tells us, leads to death. It is the path that takes work that leads to life (though work itself does not lead to life–it just makes it fuller and more enjoyable as we don’t have to worry about the consequences of wrong actions).
